When driving the car veers left and right. When correcting the veer the car feels like it is floating or drifti g back into place. Like it is gliding across the road. My tires are due for rotation and I wanted to know if this couldcause thiz type ofproblem?

Tire rotation will not help this. Something is worn in the steering or suspension systems and should be diagnosed right away. Any tire and alignment shop will do that for free or at a low cost. You should have had other clues that something is wrong, most commonly a clunk or rattle, and tire wear patterns will indicate something shifting related to the alignment.
