Cummings diesel 5.9 cranks 5-10 seconds before starting. After starting it run fine with no problem. No drop in voltage while driving. Batteries tested good. If I connect a battery charger the engine starts right up and runs fine. I had a new lift pump and internal fuel injector pump replaced 18 months ago, a new starter 6 months ago and a new hydraulic clutch assembly 2 weeks ago.
Thanks for your help

Batteries can test good but when on vehicle, it might not be at its best and that seems to be the case here. Have the batteries voltage checked while cranking.

The engine starts up right away when cold. After it gets hot, it takes several seconds to start. I did have to replace the starter but the problem still exists. It acts like it's not getting fuel right away when it's hot.

Have you tried checking for trouble codes? Some codes do not trigger any warning indicator lights.

Without any diagnostic codes it can only mean a mechanical cause. at 185k miles, the engine might have dropped a few percentage on its compression and this can affect its startability. The other possibility is that the fuel injectors might require servicing.
