Core supports are welded in place and are a job for a body shop.

No rivets. There's spot welds to drill out. If you have the new part to look at, you'll see what stays and what goes. You can tell from that what has to be drilled.
I never heard of anyone bolting a core support on but I guess it would work. We normally tack it back on with a wire-feed welder through the old holes.

OK well I will have to get someone to do that if I can't bolt it in, see I'm trying to do this for a lady who son stole her car, hit a telephone pole and left scene. I'm disabled myself, a Christian with a little money to do this thanks so much for the info god bless Art

I'm not saying you can't bolt it in. I'm just saying I've never seen it done that way. Welding by robot, something Chrysler pioneered, is much faster and more accurate than bolting parts together, and it removes one thing that could come loose and rattle.
