Can I use an aftermoarket PCM for this car?

The PCM is out on my Neon and I cannot locate a used PCM with the same numbers (3080AB). Are there aftermarket PCM's that can be used? Mechanic is telling me no and I am thinking he just wants me to buy a new one which costs 800 dollars. Which is a joke because I found one for 400.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

yes, you can buy new aftermarket. make sure it is flashed before installing or it wont run.

used ones never work as most of the time, they cannot be reflashed to your car.
