Broken tming belt on 01 neon just quit at about 5-10 mph are valves damaged no metal to metal type noise?Some say 50-50 chance.

How can anybody be sure without testing? You might install belt, do a compression test. If there is damage, I can't say you won't damage it further by testing? Your decision. My info showed that is an interference engine.
