My transmission wont engage and the mechanic says planetary gear before he has even looked. Can't it be the torque converter causing the problem? I recently had a transmission flush.

Good question. The planetary gears will usually make a lot of noise when they go. Have you heard anything? Did this happen all at once?

I want to add, when you put it in gear and hit the gas, does the speedometer react?

No noise was made and no, nothing on the speedometer. Happened all at once. My thought it was the torque converter but mechanic says planetary gear. Not sure he is correct. I think gunk is clogging the fluid pressure through the converter. Could be wrong but the A606 tranny is pretty good. Car only has 90K miles.
