My 2001 Durango has always delayed shifting into second gear for around 1/10 mile after being parked for several days. I've come to learn that this is a normal feature which helps heat up the catalytic converter. However, now the vehicle delays shifting into second gear every time I start it - even if it has only been parked for an hour. What would cause this change in behavior?

Check the fluid level and condition if okay-bring it in and have it further checked out by a transmission specialist-
