tming belt for dodge caravan 2001 4 cyl

my mechanic advice me to change the timing belt because the mileage is already 118,000 to save labor since the water pump is leaking and needs to be replace. Is this OK?

i take it water pump is run off timing belt? yes, why not change the belt since you have it all apart anyway? makes good sense to me.

Yes your there at pump Tbelt needs to be rempoved to replace water pump might put a new one on
