How many bolts hold the upper part of the Strut

One nut on the strut shaft and three nuts on the upper mount.

do NOT remove the middle nut before removing strut from vehicle. and only remove middle nut if you have the spring properly held with spring compressors to prevent injury from spring pressure and flying parts!
