Installed a new key cylinder now it will not start?

Just installed a new key cylinder on a 2001 chrysler town & country, now it will not start

System is equipped with immobilizer and any new key has to be programmed to be able to start.

Try taping your old key to the new one and see if you are able to start. Piggyback might work.
