I have intermittent gas smells in my cabin

When I use the air exchanger in heat mode. My mileage has also dropped from about 27mpg to 21mpg. I don’t see any gasoline on the ground. There is no engine light to warn of possible problems. My mechanic ran the car for an hour and didn't smell any gas. Help!

If your smelling a raw fuel smell like gas leaking get some fuel dye add it to your gas tank.Then next time you smell the gas smell get a dye light and look for a leak the dye will glow.

Hard to say where this leak at-could be coming from the evaporative emission control system, a leaky vacuum hose underneath the dash or leaking thru the firewall-have those areas checked by a gas analyzer to pin point the leak
