'01 chrysler sebring sedan airbag light??

i own a 2001 chrysler sebring 4 door sedan, 2.7L.
my question is: i'd like to know why the odd time ( and thankfully ,not very often this happens) is it that the airbag light lights up for no reason @ all, & will stay on sometimes for a minute? thanks for your info.

That means the air bag computer detected a problem and set a diagnostic fault code in memory. You need to find a mechanic with a scanner that can access that computer to read the codes. They will lead to the circuit or system with the problem, not necessarily the defective part.
