Can putting too much oil in the engine make the engine have a tapping sound?

Could cause the ticking/tapping noise-Overfilled crankcase could lead to overheated motor oil, oxidation and a loss of oil pressure. Spongy aerated oil is hard to pump. It starves the engine and critical lubricated surfaces.

Thank you! I am hoping this could be the reason for the tapping. I will get the oil changed ASAP. Thanks again!
