trans won't go into drive or reverse

I have a Chrysler 300m and the transmission "Seems" to be broken. I replaced speed sensors less then three months back, and now its acting up again. It will not drive or go in reverse this time, and the dealership says the "transmission is toast"..How do I know what's really wrong before I spend thousands?!

Bring it in to a transmission specialty shop and have it pressure tested-

Its at a dealership right now and they are saying my "oil is contaminated" I had a really hard time understanding anything after "Your transmission is toast.." Nobody wants to hear that...especially considering I just bought this car less than a year ago..
