I just dropped the trans and replaced the torque converter and flywheel. Torque and flywheel were cracked. Put them in and put trans back up. Everything is connected, but vehicle won't go. It does go fine in reverse, but in forward the engine races and the car chugs along. It feels like it is in third gear. I think it is the trans cable that leads to the throttle. Is there a proper position for the cable to be run from transmission to the engine compartment and or an adjustment to be made at the transmission or the throttle?

You probably have another problem but here it is.
Inspect the accelerator cable for proper adjustment. Inspect the Throttle Valve (T.V.) Cable lock nut (3) and the adjusting nut. Place the ignition switch in the LOCK position. Ensure the throttle valve is closed. Measure the distance (2) between the tip end and the end of the boot. The distance must be 0.03-0.06 "(0.8-1.5 mm). See Fig. 10. Loosen the T.V. Cable lock nut (3), then adjust the cable until the clearance is obtained. Tighten the T.V. Cable lock nut. Measure the distance (2) between the tip end of the T.V. Cable and the end of the boot. Ensure that the distance did not change during the tightening of the lock nut
