hot slow window lift motor

2001 chevrolet silverado 1500 passenger window motor i just replaced it but now the window goes down fine but half way up it gets slow and also the lift motor is super hot. would it be the regulator or adjusting or wiring?

Sounds like most likely the window glass is binding up somewhere.I would unhook the glass from the window regulator and see if the glass moves freely up and down by hand in the window channel.
