how do I determine if I have the proper clearance from starter to flex plate gear

if you have a 5.7 smalll blcok if you replaced the starter there should be instructions with it. if it's like a 4.8 5.3 or6.0 you don't need to do that.if the clearance is off it wil make alot of noise when engaged.
