chevy truck fuel system

i replaced the fuel pump on my chevy truck now the pump runs continously. you can hear the fuel regulator bypassing fuel back to the tank and fuel pressure is 58psi with the key on. when the key is off the system holds around 50psi

the engine fires as soon as it turns over but acts like it stops firing instantly

the fuel pump should only run for 2 seconds then stop. what pulls in the relay because the relay is staying energized. when the key is on.

The computer grounds the fuel pump relay -relay could be sticking

the contacts are open until coil is energized
