The oil presure guage reads 40 to 45 psi but the driver side vavle are chattering but not all. Would that be bad lifters or bad pump? How do I do a manual oil presure check?

What oil ya runnin? Lifters/rockers could be bad, sometimes an additive like LUCAS oil stabilizer quiets them up.
