what could be causing my car to make this noise and have no power?

i have a 2001 chevy geo metro 3 cylinder 5-speed and it making a terrible noise like a rattling and putt putting kinda sound. and i have no power of acceleration. if im on an incline i lose speed and cant regain it til im level again and its very slow in doing so. its getting worse

does not sound good. you need to do a compression test, manual oil pressure test, and a good look at the plugs and wires.
the cat converter needs to be checked as well.
