I had to replace the water pump and the timming seems to be a bit off. It idles rough and has less power. I found your related article on an Isuzu trooper but I could not read the diagrams in the article. We live in Ecuador as missionaries and I am trying to make this repair myself.

only found some info on an izuzu motor. make sure your timing marks are exactly on time.

did the old one break?? if it did, get a compression test to verify no bent valves/
