i have a 2001 lumina car runs great but when driving and i come to a stop with car in drive it want to die out but if i put it in neutral at stop it stays running put back in drive it goes fine any suggestions

I believe it is your torque control solenoid in your transmission that isn't allowing your clutch to disengage your engine when you come to a stop. Check with a transmision shop to see. I have unplugged them before on my car but would hate to you to do this and it mess up something else.
