2001 Chevrolet Impala You Remove Replace Trunk Lid Struts Shocks Plastic Style

How do you remove and replace the trunk lid struts/shocks. I have a plastic style keeper on the oem parts. the new parts/same brand stabilus have a metal keeper? thanx

My info says to use flat bladed tool and pry up on retainers, top and bottom. You may need to use something to support the trunk lid, so it don't bang you in the head.

Granted, I can't see much form here.
