Upon starting my vehicle, I notice a ticking sound coming from the engine area. My vehicle does not emit blue smoke. After it warms up the ticking sound seems to lessen or altogether disappears. Can you tell me what may be causing the sound?

it may be a lifter making noise due to dirt in it. check engine oil level first to make sure it's full. you migh ttry sea foam to see if that clears itup. just follow instructions on it.
