BOY I AM HAVING A HECK OF TIME TRYING TO GET THE TIMING RIGHT SO THE TRUCK WILL START.I REMOVE THE DISTRIBUTOR AND THE ENGINE WERE MOVE NOW I CANT GET THE ROTER TO POINT TO THE 6 ON THE DISTRIBUTOR AND THE DIS WILL NOT SRT ALL THE WAY DOWN

Are you aligning the rotor with the number one cylinder plug wire and have the crank shaft on top dead center? As far as the distributor not seating fully, move the rotor back and forth and it should drop into place.

Are you talking about where the number 1 cylinder plug wire go in the cap on the out side or inside the cap

Yes, where the #1 cylinder plug wire goes. That should be set at the #1 plug wire and if you look at the harmonic balancer, you need to set it to TDC.
