Van is burning gas at a tremendous rate. I have had the injectors cleaned. The mechanic can not find the reason. Could it be a relay or other not so obvious part malfunctioning?

I dont know what I could tell you, that your own mechanic couldnt. If you want to do some testing, yourself, Use a gage and check correct fuel pressure. Also, see if pressure drops like a rock with everything off, if it does you have a pressure leak somewhere.

Do a cylinder compression test. If your not up for doing a little testing, yourself, Im not sure how to help?
