Replaced serp. belt and tensioner on 2001 chevy astro but i noticed that belt rides about 1/8 of an inch to the front on main engine pully when running and then snaps back in place when u turn engine off. I checked the alt, ps,ac, idler, and wp and they seem to be ok. Also the crank does not have slack in bearing. Whats going on here???

check to make sure all your pulleys are tight, meaning the bolts are tight. then see if the crank moves forward or backward. if it does you have a bad main bearing inthe rear or the crank is worn. take a straight edge to see if all your pulleys are aligned.
