I have a 2001 Chevy Venture, it wont start unless I jump start it and it stays running until I shut it off and will not start right back up. Is this the battery or alternator?

If the vehicle stays running after jumping that means the alternator is most likely charging and maintaining voltage, sounds like your battery needs to be replaced. Do you know the age of the battery? Most batterys have a life expectancy of 5-7 years. I have seen a few chevy ventures that the positive battery end actually corroded so bad that they make no contact with battery. Hope this helps, let me know if you have anymore questions.
