My cadillac dts 2001 has a broken rear driver side ball joint or tie rod. Is it dangerous to drive it like that?

Most definitely! You're talking about structural parts of the steering and suspension.

There is no rear ball joint. Jack it up and push the wheel left and right to check for play in the wheel. The tierod end is not a major repair but it has to be set a certian way or the toe will have to be checked. You should do it asap. Gl
