2001 Buick Lesabre transmission

my Buick stop going forward and only goes backward my husband changed 1 and 2 shift and 3 and 4 shift and a couple more things on the transmission and the Buick work for a week and when back to only going backward now what should we check first or what should be on a check list help thank you

What codes do you have in the computer? You will need to do a line pressure test on the transmission also which requires a scan tool that can command the line pressure actuator and a transmission pressure tester kit.But lets start with what codes do you have?
