What do I need to do to keep my car from overheating?

I just replaced the radiator and the thermostat but the temp light and the low coolant light comes on.

Are you sure the engine is overheating? Did you bleed the air out of the cooling system when you replace the parts? When the low coolant light is on, are you actually low on coolant?

The engine didn't overheat and the car is not low on coolant!

When the temp light comes on I can't accelerate past 50 mph but when the low coolant light comes on at the same time then I can accelerate past 50mph.

Replace the coolant temp. Level sensor. For starters its mounted in coolant jug.
