the climate control is not working

Climate control blower fan stays on when car is off and digital display of climate control is blank. Any help? I've heard that the continuously running motor is likely the final stage regulator. But does this usually also result in the display blanking?

We had the same problem with our X5 and we eventually had to replace the climate control due to it draining the battery
