not sure what the prob is

on the way home my 325i 2001 started smoking and then stopped moving..it will not go in drive or reverse and has a clear oily substance on the back of the car.any ideas

You may have blown a transmission cooling line, this would dump all the oil and stop drive, the smoke could be the oil spilling onto the exhaust, get it towed to a service centre and have this checked.
