Front right lower control arm sub-frame pocket mount rusted out. How can this be fixed without changing out sub-frame. Can I use some kind of strap clamp?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

Living in PA, I experience rust issues all the time. There is no way to repair this to make it safe. The only suggestion I can even give would be to find someone really good at welding and who repairs frames and see if there is a way to weld new metal in place. If there is not, it needs replaced. As I am sure you already know, the lower control arm is extremely important and is not something to take a chance with.

Is it a difficult job to replace the sub-frame?

Hi again. Not a fun job. I looked up labor and it calls for five hours and the skill level is higher.

Thanks for the information much appreciated.
Does the engine/trans-axle need to be supported or can this just be unbolted from the bottom?
