Volvo V70 wagon, 2000. Can the 195/60 R-15 tires be replaced with 205/65 R15? Any downside?

We only recommend direct fit parts. However, the tire is going to be higher. The concern is will it rub when turning or hit any of the parts under the vehicle. I would recommend installing one and checking. As far as downsides, the vehicle will not handle as well. The lower profile / wider tire is better for that purpose. One last thought, it may have a small affect on the speedometer. The larger diameter tire will take longer to make a full rotation. Thus, it spins the axle slower.

All of these things add up to why we only recommend what the manufacture recommends. They designed it.
