No power to radio after replacing battery on 2000 VW Cabrio. Checked fuses 21 and 22, neither are blown. Radio was fine until battery was replaced, now has no power to it.

The radio is equipped with anti-theft codes which must be re-entered into radio afte power has been disconnected. Refer to owner's manual radio supplement for more details.

The radio also gets power from the brn/red wire which is from the ignition switch. Here is a guide to help you check and the radio wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works.
