oil light is always on

I have an x reg vw golf 1.6 and the I've check the oil levels and there fine, when the car isnt moving it also shakes a bit,

Car was working fine up until last week normally quite reliable I do need to take it for a service though.

It could be a faulty oil sending switch or loss of oil pressure. If it is a oil sending switch, it nothing to worry about except to get it replaced but if it is a loss of oil pressure, that is something serious and can result in severe engine damage.

It is best to get it checked asap and if possible, do not try to start or drive vehicle until you are sure it is not a oil pressure loss problem.
