how much does it cost to replace shift solenoids in a 2000 vw golf 2.0L

How much will it cost to have the shift solenoids replaced in a 2000 vw golf 2.0L? Also will my local mechanic be able to do this repair or will I have to take it to a transmission shop?

these solenoids are a couple hundred dollars the trans pan has to be removed .if your local mech works on trans itwon't be a problem for him to replace them.
