vw, bettle, runs rough and has smell of fuel, have checked for leaks finding none. had codes of p1255, plus po139,po304,po304,po301,po300and po422.

2.0 liter engine or 1.8t?

The misfiring is causing the fuel smell (not being burnt due to no spark)... if left too long will cause catalytic converter failure (already questionable due to stored code).

Check your spark plugs... on 2 liter engines, common to get fouled plugs that cause rough running / misfiring.
