speedometer not working

My speedometer stopped working do you know what wrong?

Hello,

It sounds like the vehicle speed sensor (VSS0 has gone out here are diagrams and instruction on how to change the sensor out and fix the problem. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

1972 Volkswagen Beetle  mileage: 100,000. My speedometer stopped working. A few weeks ago, it kept coming back to life every couple of minutes, but now it's not working.

The problem may be with your speedometer. The speedometer cable that goes to the front wheel. The cable goes through the spindle and is attached to the grease cup with a small clip. The clip has probably fallen off. To fix your problem, remove the cup, pull the cable out slightly and install a new clip.
