Temperature light comes on and off (blue)

The temperature light will go off after driving a short while, but will come back on for a couple minutes then go off again. It may also come back on after driving a long distance.

make sure the vehicle isn't overheating or close to it. make sure coolant is full. If needed, check thermostat.
