My Check engine light on my VW New Beetle GLX 1.8 Turbo is blinking on and off. The car wants to bog and vibrate when trying to accerlerate.

Sounds like a misfire, but you would have to have to have the car scanned for further diagnoses to find out what codes are stored: https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing
