my yaris has being making a crackling noise as if the radio is on also there was a slight smell when i was driving today i pulled over and switch the ignition off for a while when i restarted up it was still doing it but louder i pulled over again and switch the engine off waited a while then started the engine again and it was ok im just worried about it what do i do .

You need to locate the source of the noise. Check the drive belts to see if any are worn.
