Does a 16 valve 1600 engine from a Corolla fit in a Tazz 1300 and are the gear box housings the same in size?

Fitting in is not a problem, whether the mounts fits without modification would be the problem. It depends on what engine you are getting and the transmission are only interchangeable between certain engine models. If you are getting the engine from a junkyard, they should be able to advise.
