I was driving with hubs locked in four wheel drive for 3 hrs at speeds of 65-70 mph and when I stopped it acted as if the brakes were stuck...is this bad?

If the transfer was not engaged to 4-wheel, then it should not be much of a problem except there might be some uneven wear on the tires if the journey was on winding roads.

After unlocking the hub, did the wheels turn freely?
