why sometimes i have to step on my gas pedal to let my car start?

dear sirs, i own a toyota noah vehicle engine:3S-FE, 1998cc. sometimes it won't start, it goes up to 2500rpm and then drops to zero quickly and it dies unless i step a little on the gaspedal and after that it runs great, i have this problem a while ago and it happens 1 to 2 times a week. now even my led indicator of my battery on my dashboard does't go on i don't know what's happening. can u please tell me sir what's the problem and how could i fix this problem?

Check for vacuum leaks and check the idle air control valve.
