fluids exchanged themselves how

took my 4 runner to the shop for transmission problems and they tell me that my transmission is full of coolant and the radiator is full of transmission fluid how does this happen and how do you fix it

There is a trans coolant line that runs inside the radiator. This has probably broken. If you don't want to replace radiator, then plug the lines and get another trans cooler that you mount outside the radiator. Hopefully it hasn't screwed up the trans to much.
