Car cranks fine. Idles fine but when you accerelrate it back fires and will hardly go. It continues to hardly go and continues to back fire and sputter?

Does it have a distributor or coil overs on the plugs?

It could be a few things. Have you checked timing? Also, with that many miles, you could have a burnt valve, low compression. You need to check that to see if everything is within the manufacturer's specs.
