Check your fuel pressure, could be time for a.filter or pump.

Just to add to this one if you only have 56,000 miles on the car your filter should be good the change interval is 100,000 miles.Unless the fuel pressure regulator has failed in it.I have seen low fuel pressure on those cars and it effects performance on level ground also not just hills.You can check the fuel pressure just because wouldnt be a bad idea.Also any codes in the computer?If its a automatic transmission do you ever have to let up on the gas for it to shift to the next higher gear?
