What does a data-link 2 error mean?

Engine light is on, giving a data-link2 error. Would this indicate a cable or port issue?

Chances are there is a wiring issue. If this isn't correct, Saturntech will respond.

Just to add to this one are you getting a code if so what is the exact code number?Or does the scan tool read unable to link to the car?Does the scan tool power up off the car?
